With over 20 years’ experience in lettings and property management, Vikki has built Rooms to Let North East on the foundations of hard work, dedication, and a genuine passion for helping people find great places to live.

A Little History

Vikki began her property career straight out of school in the late 90s, when a training placement took her into an estate agency in Sunderland. Earning just £30 a week, she quickly developed a strong work ethic and a love for the fast-paced lettings industry.

Although her original plan was to pursue a career in social care, Vikki soon found herself in high demand, with students and landlords referring friends and properties her way. By the mid-2000s, her portfolio was growing rapidly, and with the introduction of HMO licensing, she became an expert in compliance and property standards.

By 2010, Vikki committed fully to lettings, achieving her ARLA (now Propertymark) qualification to ensure she could offer a professional, compliant service backed by industry knowledge. In 2017, she founded Rooms to Let North East with the goal of providing affordable, safe, and high-quality housing for professionals, NHS staff, and families.

Today, Rooms to Let North East manages a wide range of properties, from professional HMOs to long-term family homes. Key services include:

Regular property visits – HMO checks every fortnight, family homes every 3–6 months
Trusted contractors – covering maintenance, refurbishments, safety checks, fire compliance, and cleaning
Efficient turnaround – seamless tenant changeovers with minimal void periods
Full compliance – all certification, client money protection, deposit protection, ICO registration, and professional memberships in place

The business has grown almost entirely through recommendations, with 90% of long-term family homes let before hitting the open market.

Since 2017, Rooms to Let has evolved from student housing into a specialist provider of professional co-living and family homes across the North East. Every step of the journey has been driven by hard work, compliance, and a reputation for excellent service.
